Roads and cycle paths
Look for the green stamp. A road-legal bike has a 250W motor and assistance that stops at 25km/h, so it needs no licence, insurance or registration and can go anywhere a bicycle can.

Our all-terrain bikes have motors above the UK road limit. They are sold for use on private land with the owner's permission and cannot be ridden on a public road, cycle path or bridleway.

In the UK an electric bike is only road legal if the motor is 250W or under and assistance stops at 25km/h. Anything more powerful is legally a motor vehicle: it needs registration, insurance and a licence, and riding one on a road or cycle path without them is an offence.
Plenty of shops advertise 45km/h and 750W without mentioning any of that. We would rather sell you the right bike than the fastest one, so each product page states its status before it states its price.
